BRIXX – Automated packing configurator

I was tasked with creating the UX framework for Flexlink’s new, automated packing system BRIXX.

BRIXX is a modular click-and-play packing solution, consisting of reconfigurable robots and conveyor belts, all controlled through an intuitive configurator.

The aim was to design a flexible system that’s easy to use for many different users with various goals. From creating a new packing line with available modules, guiding operators to setup the line, to allowing supervisors to monitor production rate and machine status, and service engineers to do maintenance.

Working in collaboration with developers, PMs, and robot engineers, we created separate userflows depending on authorization levels.

  • A supervisor is able to setup new production line layouts and monitor production flow.
  • Using card based step-by-step visual instruction for line configuration, an operator is guided on how to setup and run a preconfigured line layout.
  • A service engineer can check each module for indicators to enable preventive maintenance planning, and alarms showing disruptions.
